Part of this may depend on the soap.

I worry about chips of MWF going down the drain and building up since it doesn't dissolve by itself very well and hot water doesn't melt it.

Bald Frog washes away easily and hot water melts it completely.

I bought a new kind of drain snake made for hair. It's just a strip of plastic with little hooks all down the sides. Haven't tried it yet.

Wipe your blades off on a clean dry washcloth, keeps the water, rust and faucet dings at bay as well as keeping things out of the drain.

In all seriousness Obie, my own method for ridding used product during my shaves is having a length of toilet paper (4 or 5 squares) on the countertop or sink basin. I just wipe the razor off as needed and then flush the waste. I don't do this for my sink's sake, as you may need to, but it keeps my rhythm and timing in check vs. waiting for the water to clear the lather off. ymmv

I rarely see any problems, but when I do it's straight for the Drano. Effortless and highly efficient. Run your fan and don't inhale the fumes, and run lots of cold water after treatment.

This is a true story. I heard it first about 20 years ago from that ol boy. He's a good friend.
