I had me a pipe for a while and I enjoyed it. I loved sitting on my porch in the late evenings and just relaxing. I had a straight shaft pipe which was a cheapo at $20 and hated that pipe. Kept getting the juice in my mouth if I wasn't careful. That made for bad experiences.
I was considering getting a new Cavicchi pipe but never seem to have the spare $$ money now and might not for a while hehe. I loved the Black Vanilla in the tin. Great taste and smell with a cool smoke.
I tend to enjoy some of the old fashioned ways even though I am 24, I think people back some years knew how to relax

Cavicchi pies are a great pipe, I own 4. Thier quality is as good as Castello and better (imo) than any age Dunhill. You won't regret the purchase.
Try:Planta Davanish Black Vanilla, has to be one of the best Vanillas...smokes smooth and flavourfull till the bottom of the bowl with consistancy.
Personally I'm a S&G Full VA man, though all straight VA's get my vote.
As a foot note, US maker, Lee Von Erk makes a very fine smoking tool (oil cured). I have 2 of his and am never dissapointed in thier quality.

Man I knew I shouldn't read this thread but I couldn't help myself. Just gave up smoking six months ago. I used to stuff my own cigarettes about twenty a day. As well as pipes and cigars when time allowed. I hope some day to be able to return to the occasional pipe as a great luxury but right now the craving is just too overwhelming.
On another note try writing a letter with a dip pen, that will take you back. you should see some of the nibs I have for my celluloid sticks and the rosewood one my wife got me a while back. just like straights huge learning curve when comming from a bic.

Good grief Mparker...that pipe is just nucking FUTS that's a beautifull piece of work.
I'm a very staunch non smoker but that would almost make me pick up smoking.

Thanked: 346Ok, I'll bite. I've got a Stetson Chatham in Sovereign grade, two Borsalino Comos, and a Stetson Imperial Homburg, and a Stetson 10x cowboy-style hat. And a Borsalino straw.
Still looking for a good Cavanagh in 7 1/4....
I can post pics tonight if anyone's interested...Last edited by mparker762; 11-17-2006 at 01:00 PM.

Edit: Here's one of my meerschaums, a dragon claw holding an egg. It was snow white when I got it. The coloration comes from the tobacco smoke and juice repeatedly soaking the meershaum and getting trapped inside the wax coating. This process takes awhile...
