Take another look at the photos. The box says "Made in China." Dead giveaway that these have nothing to do with the venerable gun maker.

Just an FYI, Gold Dollar razors -- also from China -- have been hit or miss. Members have found that you can buy one and it will hone up shave ready sharp and keep a nice edge, but the next one you buy might never be useable no matter how much time you spend on the hones.

saw another one - Smith & Wesson Large Straight Razor Folding Knife Black Wood Handle NEW! | eBay - not only did the seller, "straight110" only post one photo (which was a marketing copy of all things), when asked, he wouldn't name the country of origin, simply stated that the razor was "imported". buyer beware, eh?

In my opinion, these guys selling this kind of razor and there are several out there including one shop advertising all over the internet, do more harm for our Art than good. Unsuspecting new guys purchase these things and are then turned off to what would otherwise become the highlight of the day and a lifelong passion.

    Tis a shame, really.
