    Good advice so far.

Just be sure to keep in mind your target audience and what they'll want to know. Write down a few objectives for your talk - what do you want them to get out of it?
For a 30 minute talk - limit yourself to two or three main points. You don't really have enough time to go into more than that.

It sounds like you already have a feel for your audience, which is the most important thing.
You could make a presentation that would enthrall everyone at SRP but completely lose the audience that will be there.

    Here's my outline...

History/Timeline - just focusing on the really interesting points throughout history - trivia points. 5 min
Benefits of Wet Shaving - Why go "old school?" 5 min
The tools: Straight razors, Safety Razors, Brushes, Strops, and Mugs/Soap - 10 min (Demonstrating each and explaining little tidbits of info)
Questions: 5-10 min (but this will last as long as people are asking questions...we would just need to move to "The Parlor")

Of course...this is all open for editing

    Default Success!

Many thanks to you folks for some great ideas/thoughts to help with my discussion. Last night's panel was a big hit.

I was able to show and tell my way through - which got people involved and interested.

Starting with the benefits of wet shaving (better for your skin, better shave experience, lower cost (ha!), etc.) I was able to drop in interesting trivia points, and shaving history. Follow that up with a breakdown of the "tools" - straight razors, safety razors, brushes, soaps, and aftershaves.

Thanks to WillN, I had some really nice 1850-1920 pieces to show - as well as some really swanky sharpening devices. The folks loved the gizmos and everyone left smelling good. Several converts and really interested people.

I handed out a sheet with SRP for information, a ton of vendors, and where to go to get supplies. Maybe we will have some new folks join SRP!

Once again, thanks to everyone for your help!

    Default A little demo :)

So, as an encore to my 30 min presentation, I was asked to show how to shave with a straight razor... No, the mustache and beard were not harmed
