Thanked: 0Straight razor shaving + Tend skin
Okay here's my story:
i used to shave happily with my gillette mach 3 razor but, about 3 years ago 2 days after shaving ingrow hairs and razor bumps start to appear
so i bought the powder of softsheen carson Magic Shave but it just burned my skin, after some research i heard that straight razor help with both
ingrows and razor bumps, now my dovo synthetic has arrived and im just waiting a bottle of Tend Skin (Tend Skin Products | Tend Skin Lotion | Ingrown Hairs & Razor Bumps) to complement the test
against razor bumps and ingrows.
¿is it (Tend Skin) going to have a secondary reaction?
pd. i am a newcomer i've been lurking around SRP but this is my first thread be nice
thanks in advance

This product is not meant to be used with a straight razor. I advise getting a good QUALITY shaving soap/cream to shave with. There are many to choose from and they are not expensive when you look at just one. I would recomend Taylor of Old Bond Street's-Jermyn Street Shave soap or cream. It's for sensitive skin. Smells great and has fantastic lather.

+1 to what shooter said you will need to get a shave soap or cream to really get the best from the straight razor.
Did you get a dovo shavette? If not you will need a strop also.
Now tend skin really does help control razor bumps and ingrow hairs it is a good product. I recommend getting the roll on applicator it really helps make the product last.
Welcome to SRP and best of luck. Straight shaving really help clear up my ingrow hair problems.

IMO, Tend skin is not such a good idea. I speak from experience. I am not saying it is bad. Skincado Combat Ready Balm is fairly good. I have also used plain old Jojoba Oil to help with skin issues. Like everyone else said a good cream or soap goes a long way.

Something that will help your skin greatly is a good toner for after your shave. Since I started using Thayer's witch hazel, my skin has never been better.

Also if you did not purchase your razor as shave ready make sure to send it out to be honed first to give your self the best chance of success.
I have not owned a dovo but have heard that the factory edge will shave but will not be comfortable and really wont help with the skin issues.
