Thread: Razor shoping in London ?

I will be taking my first trip to London, England for a two week vacation in September and I was wondering if there was anyone here at the SRP that might know of a good shaving store there. I live in Oakland California and there isnt much in the way of shaving stores here. (If it hadn't been for SRP I'd probably still be using a Mach 3 and gunk in a can.) I currently have a decent dovo and silver tip brush but was thinking that a town with a 2,000++ year history might have a special shop that deals in the fine art of shaving. Kind of like the place where Harry Potter bought his wand, you know, small shop, old part of town, polite and caring proprietor. :-)

I am sure that you can get software there at any of the three T's; not sure on the hardware though (razors). Have fun.

The three T's I am refering to are Trumpers, Truefitt and Hill and Taylor of Old Bond Street

London is pretty much like Mekka when it comes to shaving supplies. The 3 T's, Joris, C&S DR Harris among others.
Most are found near Jermyn street. A few of those have razors as well. But I would get them honed profesionally before you use them.

As mentioned above there are pletny of shops to visit. I'd recommend this one and pick up some Santa Maria Novella shaving cream and pre/post cream. Quite possibly the best stuff out there. Their shop is beautiful and they have a double stag shaving brush in the display window too.

Also you can walk through Piccadilly Arcade (there's a barbour shop inside too that sells Proraso range) to Taylor's of Old Bond St. They have a massive stock of shaving items (expensive) including a Dovo Mammoth for £800...ouch.

Ah a perfect thread. I am going to be in London from the 14th to the 24th and was looking for some shops to visit. Sounds like the 3T's will be a stop. Still doing my research on other recommended places to visit.
And try to make it to these stores before they close, as I will be in the area for work.
