Thanked: 247I'm not sure if it's a trend, but I always get a kick out of seeing brand xxx razor with a starting bid of $9.99, and 14 bids that have taken it all the way to $11.00, knowing full well the auction will close at 400+. Definitely an entertaining display of wishful thinking.

The country has been in a collecting frenzy for probably 20 or more years now. Just about anything you can collect has a fan base and the prices have risen. Back when I was in H.S around 19...har har I collected rock and minerals. You could buy a big box of quality stuff for 30 bucks. Then all of a sudden demand started and prices went up and quality went down. Then I collected pocket watches and you could buy a mint common watch for so little really, no one wanted them. Now the same stuff in poor condition goes for hundreds. So now it's razors and the same thing is happening. Eboy or not most flea markets and antique dealers have books on just about every item so it's much harder to get any deals but they are out there.
