Shaving Supplies in Israel?
I will be living in Israel, specifically, Jerusalem, for the next 4 months.
Does anyone know a place where I can shop for shaving supplies? I just can't pack 4 months worth of supplies!

I buy all my stuff on ebay from the vendor "shavetools." Good prices and fast free shipping. Good luck on your trip!

Define supplies. Haven't been able to find decent shave soaps, but you can find Nivea and MEM shave creams practically in any super market. MEM is a local olive oil based cream and is very nice. Both bed and bath equivalents -"Laline" and "Sabon" -have their own shave creams. I didn't like them but that's just me. DE blades you can find in the machane yehuda market, a local brand called Edison. Haven't been able to find Israeli perssonna anywhere, weirdly enough, and since my DE is for travel mainly, I make do with the Edisons. Soaps and brushes and stuff I buy online, mainly from European based shops like traditional shaving and connaught shaving. Shipping from the states is costlier, true, but if you group your purchases its not that bad. Had straights shipped from SRD and the superior shave, both without a hitch. and of course manah is a straight vendor, and he's local.
I live 10 minutes out of Jerusalem, so if you need some help just shout...

Thanks for the info. This is NOT a vacation! I am on research leave and am expected to do a lot of research and launch a scholarly commentary on the book of Joshua. If I don't meet my goals, my school won't give me another research leave. I'm also teaching a class at an institute here. HOWEVER I do confess, I prefer the life of research and a one-course load to my usual pattern! And "Research" for a Bible guy in Israel is defined as "walking around a lot."
Problem with the Nivea stuff is cost-about 30% higher here. But I think the Ahava (local) company makes something I can use.
I'm mainly wanting to find a good Bay Rum aftershave. I couldn't pack 4 months worth of my favorite Dominica Bay Rum--the bottles are way heavy and I didn't want to risk re-packaging and spilling.
I'm pretty familiar with the OC and Ben Yehuda, so I'll go shopping. Just thought maybe someone had already done that and had some specific advice.

The local olive oil based shaving cream Mem is cheaper for more product (140 gr tube), and at least for me was better. YMMV. Most supermarkets carry it.
If you manage to find a place they sell Bay rum locally please post!

It may be simpler to buy a bottle of rum when you get there and some local herbs and make a bottle of bay rum after shave. I know I have seen some recipes floating around her on it.
