Just found an old school barber down the road.
I was looking to get my head shaved down again today as it's been about two or three weeks since my last one. I was scouting a new place because the shop I usually go to just doesn't do a great job, even though I have the easiest hair cut in the world, shortest possible clippers everywhere. I don't like salons or stylists really, so I was just driving around looking for open actual barber shops, this place is called simply "Barbershop" so that seemed likely.
I went in and it smelled right, there was one guy cutting hair and a couple of people waiting. I asked what they charge to shave my head and the guy says 12 bucks, but you'll have to wait for me to finish if you want the razor shave after the clippers, or wait for Archie to finish lunch.
I was excited at that point. Then an older guy comes out and taps me on the shoulder and says come on if you want the shave.
He ran me down with the clippers really well then brushed then vacuumed and then brushed my head again. Then he put oil and massaged it in followed by hot lather, also vigorously massaged, and then five or ten minutes of hot towels. Then oil and hot lather and he shaved my entire head with a shavette. He followed up with balm and then talc.
When I got up and asked him what I owed him, he looked at me funny and said, "well twelve bucks."
Outstanding! I'll be back for every haircut there now. I have him a twenty and still felt like I wa talking advantage.

Sounds like great old school service and well deserving of the tip.

Yeah it was cool, I've never had a shave from a barber, and I've never had anybody but me shave my head. It was a great experience all the way around!

Thanked: 58I live in Broken Arrow. Where in the world are you talking about? I know of Clay's at 51st and Memorial, but he's more than $12, I guarantee it.
