I'm not odd, I'm anachronistic.
The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.

Thanked: 247I've always disliked the term OCD, and spend most of my time trying to avoid the label. But the one time someone on SRP accused me of being "a little OCD", I felt complimented.
I have more tools than Home Depot, and live in a two room apartment. I use one kitchen cabinet for kitchen stuff. All the rest are full of things I need.
I keep a belt grinder in the bedroom.Last edited by regularjoe; 09-17-2012 at 02:08 AM. Reason: The obvious just hit me.

Normal is really boring.
Normal=average and what great person ever set their target at "average"?

Thanked: 1587Now wait a minute. To get "average" you add up all the bits and then divide by the number of bits. The bits that go into making an average can vary wildly: the average of 100 and 0 is 50, for example.
So when someone says they are average take a very close look at them: that may mean they are freaks in both extremes, but that their freaky bits just happen to cancel each other out!!

I don't think that there is anything odd here. I am glad that I wear long sleeves at work.
I am still using the first batch of soap made with the recipe you passed on to me. I have thought about trying something different but I can't bring myself to do so until I use that up. I don't feel I need more than one soap. Now is that odd?

I'm very thankful for the collection of odd balls that make up SRP. None of my non SRP friends understand that lavender and rose can be masculine scents.

The late great Utah Philips had a great commentary on normal vs average. The relevant bit starts about 4:20 in:
Myspace Music Player
It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.
