Thanked: 10What to do when your razor is off being repaired...?
The title is pretty self-explanatory, but I will re-state the question: What do you guys do when your (only) straight razor is off being repaired? I loathe the idea of picking up a disposable... Grow a beard? Make sure you have more than one SR?

Well, that'll never be an issue for me lol... But I still have my DE's and that's what I would use. They are still a blast in themselves, and travel better too lol.
You could buy this - "for back-up" and "travel"

Thanked: 247There are people with only one razor? That's just a shame. I think I'd fill the time with buying another razor. Then again, if I only had one, I'd be calling the cops to report a burglary.

I was in this same predicament a few weeks ago, so I bought a Hart Steel.

Time to drag out the antique Sunbeam Shavemaster electric razor. It should be required use by all shavers just so they know how men really tortured themselves in the 1950s looking for the really modern way to shave.

I bought my first razor in a three razor lot. I knew from the start that it would make sense to have multiples for back up...I also knew that I needed to try several types to learn what I like and don't.
Nothing wrong with having only one as long as it is a good one...but I'd hate to be far from honing services

Haven't had to worry about it yet and hopefully will have my second or third razor before I do. But if something does happen when I'm stuck without a SR for a bit then think I'll have to just burn it off with a stick on fire; think that would be perferrable to going back to cardridge or (god forbid) electric.

Wax, of course. Hot, and lot's of it.
But seriously, have you seen pics of some of the guys on here? It's like a beard and Goatee club. I think some of these guys could go five days without shaving and not even notice.
As for me, I always keep at least seven razors ready to go and I have a DE with a blade in it in my medicine cabinet so I'm covered.
