    Default Sudden RAD onset!

I believe I have what you fine gents call RAD. I've been going nuts on Ebay getting all kinds of wrecked razors to restore and I'm doing research on how to make my own scales. I've mostly been taking the lost cause razors at low prices and getting them working with modest results with mostly successes so far. I'm not sure what it is about this hobby but I really enjoy this and find it relaxing and meditative. There's something very zen about putting so much thought into something as simple as your shave. Wow though did this come on me fast, I started straight razor shaving to save money originally but after inheriting four straight razors and restoring them I've gotten hooked!

That's what I thought when I started straight shaving and now I don't like to think how much I have invested in shaving paraphernalia, but I enjoy every minute of this hobby, so I guess it's worth it.

You are not alone, I had the same mindest when is started. "ooh, this is way cheaper than a pack of fusions every month", then I found an antique store, and then I typed those four cursed letters into google...........Oh well, cheaper than most of my co-workers habits.

This site caused my RAD, so many amazing customs and restores, i initially thought i would save money, but that has way gone out the window, i look at them as an investment now, at least that is what i tell myself, lucky i have an understanding wife.

You know it is really bad when you start having notions about the razor you want...but it does not exist except in your mind...that is when RAD gets really expensive
