Default Almost switched to the dark side

yep, 2 weeks of no shaving is getting to me... actually took out the Merkur DE and was considering shaving with it

I think I'll hold off for a few days... maybe I'll just trim the beard with the electric

Hey, nothing wrong with DEs. I just got one as well. It won't be in my regular rotation but I do expect to use it occasionally.

    yes, I know, Ilija

I was just kidding... it would probably be worse for my skin than the straight anyway, from what I remember, though

    Nenad,

    I claim disability excuse!

Otherwise I haven't used a DE on my face since I got my first straight from Joe

    Cheers

The funny part is that I only tried DE shaving after I got profficient at shaving with a straight.

I think most of us whether we want to admit it or not falls back to the DE or maybe even the (gasp) electric when we are in are real hurry. Maybe once every 4 months or so I'll use the DE and maybe once a year even the electric. (I hope lynn doesn't kick my butt out of here for using the electric!)

Me too. I'm having loads of fun with a DE right now. I usually use one for a week or so until it's time to change blades, then I switch back to the straight. Some places I can get better with the straight (chin) and others are better with the DE (problem areas on the neck).

    Both are loads of fun.

since I started SR shaving, I usually / always shave at night so that I am not in a hurry. I love it. at times I felt it might be better to finish with the DE but chose not to.

Right now I seem pressed to the wall though because I cannot use my left arm, and from the start I shaved with both. I think I'll slice myself if I go right hand-only and at this point cannot justify the bloodletting and potential scars. so I'll either wait more, or resort to the DE / electric. Still holding up but yesterday charged the electric - might use it to trim the beard (not shave, just trim)

    cheers
    Ivo
