Ah yes. I got you now. Quite right...It's meaningless in that context.

And here's a link to how to spot those lies, and how to not get caught out by them:

    Amazon.com: Statistics: Books

The easiest way to spot a lie about statistics is to know that 83% of statistics are made up on the spot.

And that 98% of people do not bother to check the veracity of the data the statistics were based on so long as those statistics support their view....

(The remaining 2% are a subset of Statisticians....)

Well, I dont have statistical data, but I DO know that this time last year there were just over 5000 ebay hits for the term "straight razor" of which about 1400 were "auction" listings.

right now, there is over 6000 listings, and over 1800 of which are auction listings.

And you may have noticed that the prices have done stupid things, to the point where I am looking around for anything I own that vaguely resembles a razor shaped object that I may proceed to acquire a vast fortune selling junk to " collectors"

I just checked, and that "over 6000" number is perilously close to the 7000 mark!

James, I actually think that your statistic could actually be fact though. There is such a huge percentage of people who dont think to check validity of statistics, mainly because they sound so foreign and dramatic.
