Thanked: 14Shaving on the road
I am riding my Harley down the Baja Mex peninsula this Feb. I would like some suggestions on packing wet shaving equipment. I primarily
Shave with a straight razor. I also have some DE stuff. I am a gadget guy and like cool stuff. I look forward to shaving everyday and would like some suggestions on great shaving stuff to take. I need to pack fairly light.
Thanks
John

Thanked: 247I took a trip recently. I wore a nylon belt for a linen component, packed a smooth leather belt for..well..that one's obvious. Put the straight in a plastic toothbrush case., and wrapped a small barber hone in my socks. Everything worked out pretty well for me. I'd just put the straight on the left side. Don't wanna get the scales hot usually. Lots of soaps come in a little jar you can seal. That's how I took mine anyhow. And the brush fits pretty much anywhere.
Not very high tech, but it worked for my two week trip, and the razor came back just as sharp as it left.

If it were me, I would use one of my Gillette travel razors, small tube of C.O.Bigelow, small badger,,work the lather in my palm with the badger, ,,,no need to strop (DE blades-5 pack, last for weeks).
Oh, a large bottle of Pinaud in the saddle bags just for the Ladies.

Thanked: 983Given a choice I would rather shave by the side of the road, rather than on it...Actually given a choice I would rather be well away from the road so I could shave in comfort and safety...
But the serious answer to your question would for you, be Hirlau's answer. I've done a bike trip and taken my cut-throat and equipment along, but I don't use one of those heavy leather strops that need to stay flat. I use a 'roo hide strop that I can roll up. That being the biggest issue with cut-throats and bike trips, I don't have a problem. I've also taken a DE for bike trips too. You take what is most practical for your situation.
