Thumbs up 4th shave and loving it!

Just sharing my experience learning to use a straight. I tried van der Hagen soap for first 3 shaves, but wasn't getting good lather. Tried the stick of arko and loved it!!! Best shave yet, but unfortunately the bloodiest. Can't wait to try again.

I applied directly to face. It was fool proof.

Best advice I can give you is to make sure you stretch your skin out and do NOT put pressure on the blade when you make your passes. I think this are 2 of the biggest over sites by new to straights guys.

I tried the vdh again, and not happy at all. Definitely staying with the arko for now. Could someone give me their thoughts of mama bears shave sticks? Are they as fool proof? Thanks
