Thread: RazorBase: Free razor/shaving software for Windows/MySQL

There's a new version of my RazorBase software available here.

It's a Windows/MySQL application for straight razor users, which I'm offering free to everyone here. It allows you to record and view info on your razors, shaves and honings, and allows this data to be sorted and presented much more easily than if it was in a word processor document. (I was keeping notes this way but it wasn't very easy to find collections of related info.)

This is free software, not a time-limited trial or a cut-down version of a commercial app. I wrote it for my own use, but would like to think other people benefit from it too.

If you have problems setting it up, questions not covered in the documentation, etc, either comment on this thread or PM me. I'd very much appreciate details of any bugs in the program.

If you're using an earlier version and are happy with it, there's no need to upgrade (although I recommend that you do, as there are a few bug-fixes in the new version.) Your existing database will work fine with the new version, and won't be affected by uninstalling version 1.0 - 1.2 and upgrading to 1.3

As far as I can tell, there isn't a MySQL implementation for phones. That means I'd have to re-write the database side of it with SQLite or some such. I'd also have to re-write the front end, because they don't use the windows GUI, so that adds up to a complete re-write. Sorry, but it isn't going to happen.
