First Straight shave today.
Well I finally bit the bullet and shaved with a straight my first time this morning. Lathered up the Taylor Sandalwood, opened up the Revisor (a member so graciously loaned me), and went at it. A few of the angles were tough to navigate. I figured them out though. I think I had three small nicks I patched up with the Styptic pencil and a little razor burn under the neck but all in all it was not too bad for first time putting a straight to my face. Wasn't the smoothest shave but that's probably to be expected the first time. I'll let it all heal up and have a go at it again. It is quite enjoyable. Wish me luck.

Welcome aboard then. Congrats on the first shave but here a a couple of things to keep in mind. Take it REAL slow when first using a straight. The learning comes with time and we tend to rush it along as we get more comfortable. That's when bad things happen. Always remember to stretch your skin as you go as this helps shave the hair off your face without the risk of unwanted nicks. Always be conscious of the pressure you apply to the blade, should be NONE. Let the blade glide over your skin as it mows down the beard. The chin area and the lower neck ,where hair grows in crazy directions is always tuff so take extra time and don't get over-daring. And most of all, ALWAYS enjoy your shaves, they are the most therapeutic time of my day.
Again congrats and ask any questions you may have, there is always someone here ready to help with the answers.Having Fun Shaving

Thanks for the support. I spoke with CuddaRunner today on the phone for about an hour and he said the same thing. With his help as well as you guys I think it's was pretty good for the first shave. The best part is I'm looking forward to the next. So I'm pretty sure y'all have created a new straight shaver and most of all a new friend. Thanks guys. I hope to learn and help some young buck out later down the road like y'all have. I'm from Texas. We say y'all.
