Thanked: 0New to site
Hi I'm new on the forum so apology's if I ask anything stupid! My other half has got into traditional shaving and now gets annoyed if I nick his razor! I'd like a proper razor something less plastic and more solid if you know what I mean.
So I went on all the shaving sites I looked at for him and everything was either pink or pastel which completely drives me mad. I think its a lack of imagination when companies brand something for women and then only make it in pink but there you go its my pet peeve.
So can I have recommendations please for women's razors that aren't pink! Is it really true that women are better shaving with women's razors rather than men's ones, I've read that they are designed differently but I don't know if thats just a marketing thing?
Any help over what would be best to buy would be gratefully appreciated!

Welcome to SRP. What type of razor are you interested in using, a straight razor, double edge (DE) or single edge (SE)? I got my wife off the plastic Venus crap about a year and a half ago. She liked my Merkur 34C (DE)so much that I purchased one for her. Now the only thing I notice is a dwindling supply of DE blades, but they are very inexpensive. She's not willing to try any of my straights, but who knows, maybe one day she'll let me shave her.

Thanked: 375Welcome to SRP! Same here I bought my wife a Merkur DE long handle, I can't remember the model. Well if you like what your other half is using why not purchase the same one?

There is a Lady Gillette Double Edge which is blue!!!! You can also go the disposable straight route that uses half a DE blade or other disposable type blades. The Mrs. hasn't used a cartridge razor in over a year. She will use whatever I leave in the shower for her, or if she has enough time, she will use my shavette. The shaves are closer and last longer!

Welcome! It depends on what you want. I dont know that there is much ofa difference between men's and women's razors. I use De and straight one is a custom for a women the others are my husband's 7/8. You're De is highly based on your blade choice. If you have any questions send me a pm and I can give you a list of blades that have worked for me.
