Default Local meetups are a Must!

A few of us just had a small get together here in PA.
If you have not been to one you are missing alot. There is no substitute for face to face meeting fellow enthusiasts. There were only seven of us, and it was a fast 5 hours. We could have easily made a weekend out of it. I know I didnt get to see/talk enough with everyone.
If there is not one in your area, organize one yourself!

I have met with a couple of members and you are right. So many things to share, so little time. I have learned a little more with each meet and made some great new friends. So if you get the chance to meet other members , do it.

OMG you did it ! I was afraid to call for So.Cal meet up because we will have to rent the Convention center or a stadium, something. I'll check into renting the Pond.

I know you'd think so right?! Haha. So far doesn't seem like a ton of interest but definitely a few.
I could prob fit a handful of people comfortably. Too much more and it'd probably feel like we're crammed in a portapotty. But happy to host if we can fit.

Didn't mean to hijack the thread.

Well the OP said organize 1 yourself, so I don't think your hijacking. Just showing how it's done. :<0) I'll send a pm though.

I hope we can get something going on during the summer when more people can make it.

On the way home last night I ran into a white out. It was snowing pretty hard at times.

    Amen to that!
I've been fortunate enough to join in on a few meets by now, and regardless of place or arena, they have all been what keeps this hobby alive for me.

As I am Norwegian, one either has to arrange them yourself, along with the few lads that share this hobby with you, or you will have to travel.
My first one, back in 2010 was actually arranged by Stubear over in London, UK.
I travelled there all by my lonesome for three days just to join a meetup arranged at the D R Harris store on St. James' street.
Now, that was so much fun, and educational, that I went back a year later
Then I started to host small meetups up here i Oslo.
Zephyr, str8fencer, Blix and I had a number of gatherings. Lots of beer, lots of geekery. Great fun with a fine bunch of men.
And I must also mention the Fort Lee-NJ meetups that I have attended.
Hosted by mvcrash and attended by a fine bunch of fellas both times I went there.

As a result I am a better shaver and honer, but even more importantly, I have made good friends in near and far places.
    That to me is priceless!

Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me over all these years....
