Maybe a vendor donated door prizes, and this thread is just a CYA tactic.

If you have not been to one you are missing alot. There is no substitute for face to face meeting fellow enthusiasts. There were only seven of us, and it was a fast 5 hours. We could have easily made a weekend out of it. I know I didnt get to see/talk enough with everyone.
If there is not one in your area, organize one yourself!
    Amen to that!
I've been fortunate enough to join in on a few meets by now, and regardless of place or arena, they have all been what keeps this hobby alive for me.

As I am Norwegian, one either has to arrange them yourself, along with the few lads that share this hobby with you, or you will have to travel.
My first one, back in 2010 was actually arranged by Stubear over in London, UK.
I travelled there all by my lonesome for three days just to join a meetup arranged at the D R Harris store on St. James' street.
Now, that was so much fun, and educational, that I went back a year later
Then I started to host small meetups up here i Oslo.
Zephyr, str8fencer, Blix and I had a number of gatherings. Lots of beer, lots of geekery. Great fun with a fine bunch of men.
And I must also mention the Fort Lee-NJ meetups that I have attended.
Hosted by mvcrash and attended by a fine bunch of fellas both times I went there.

As a result I am a better shaver and honer, but even more importantly, I have made good friends in near and far places.
    That to me is priceless!

Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me over all these years....

I would love to have one in Philly! The one in Hamburg was a bit too far for me.

I agree with the OP. The local Razor Meets are the best. I have attended/organized a few of these and I always walk away having met some of the best people with lots of talent in various areas of knowledge. In addition I usually go home with more knowledge about razors. hones, grinding etc than when I arrived.
If I can help any of you organize a Razor Meet just send me a PM/email.
