I'm away the 4th and 5th, I'm afraid: work thing in Ohio. If the date works for enough others, then I'll just catch the next one. I'll keep watching this thread. Thanks Gonzo & Utopian!

    Gentlemen,
It is now March and spring will come eventually. I have not really had much feedback on where yet. I guess I will make a command decision and make it simple, it will be at my house. I may need some of you to bring a folding table and chairs. I will keep looking for other areas to host, but the date will be April 5th. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. The topics of interests will be:
    • Honing
    • Restoration
    • Strops and techniques
    • Bring soaps, creams, and brushes to try out. Maybe swap some creams or soaps
    • Types/grinds of straights, so often we get asked what type of grind or what we like in a razor, but if you are new to the world of straights, you don't have any idea. Straight razor composition.
Schedule, think we need to start at no later at 10:00
Tentative schedule first Razor types and grinds, followed by strops and stropping techniques, restoration, then some honing, ending with soaps, creams, and brushes.
For the honing, strops, razors, etc., if there is something you want to use or see ask and we will see if we can get it. Ron will bring all his hones, but I think if we tell him which ones interest you, he may only need to bring a portion of his collection. I would like to study and use more Japanese Natural Stones, especially finishers. Hopefully it will start warming up by then. Thanks and look forward to your response.
I am very appreciative of all the knowledge and sharing each and everyone has provided me with. Look forward to future endeavors with many of you.
    Gonzo

Maybe it could be pushed back a week? Another week would allow more time for the snow to melt.

I can push it back a week to April 12th , if that works better for everyone. The snow melting, we can only hope some is gone by then. The snow keeps coming. I need to know this is the date for sure. Please let me know if you can or can not make it by the 21st of March. People need to make plans and figure out funds. I would like for you to make it Deepweeds.

This time I'm going to stay in Chicago both the night before and the night of the meet-up. Somehow someone else is going to have to cover my work for that day.

I'll bring representative samples of various razor grinds and sizes along with the other stuff I listed previously.

The 12th is good for me, and I'd certainly come. So, you can put that in the bank. (Thanks, Utopian and Gonzo!) But it'd be helpful to hear from some of the other guys who made the last one, just in case the 12th happens to be bad for a critical number of them.

As long as the snow is gone, I'm fine with bringing about the same number of hones again, but sorry Gonzo, that was not all of them--just a representative sample! Here is a photo of them after I unpacked.
