The meet-up was great! Meeting the faces behind the screen name was fun. It made it very easy to talk to people I only knew from reading the forums. I enjoyed the very positive exchange of information, ideas, tips, etc. among all in attendance. All levels of skills from beginner to expert benefited, which was the goal of the meet-up all along. Everyone and everything was upbeat both days. It was a pleasure working with the other team members most of whom I met for the first time when I walked in. It was a very valuable experience all the way around. I'm looking forward to doing it again.

Thanked: 2209Hey guys
This razor meet was the best ever! and the biggest straight razor meet so far.
Lots of new people to meet and a bunch of old friends.
It was good to see Utopian, Coully, Joe Chandler, Lynn,Ray (Walleyeman), and Charlie Lewis once again.
I got to meet members of the team that put this together. Kevin Adams (HidestoArt), Joyce,
Rick Boone, C.J. Bianco, Nipper, WarPiper, ScoutHikerDad. Those people did a really good job of organizing this razor meet.
There were many new guys, to many to remember all the names but here are a few I got to spend some
time with. Stropper, Pfries, ShavingSnob, Moosiker. All 4 really jumped in and helped a lot.
Pfries reallly impressed me with his honing ability especially since he has not had anyone
to mentor him and his willingness to help out the new guys who attended.
Shavingsnob really helped out with the pics/video/ and
Moosilker did a bangup job demonstrating the shaving soaps and creams.
Simon (Coully) even gave a bunch of guys a straight razor shave!
Utopian put together a really neat combo of microscope-camera-TV monitor
that really displayed the razors edge very clearly and helped a lot of new guys understand what was going on with the edge of the razor.
Colman Fourshee of Klingspors Klingspor's Woodworking Shop | Quality Tools and Supplies for the Woodworker. was very well represented and I spent a bunch of money with them.
They have an impressive 2 sided diamond hone from Trend which has a 300 grit lapping plate on one side and a 1000 grit continuous hone on the other side for less than $110! plus a 5 year Guaranty! and other impressive products which I will post about later.
Ray ( Walleyeman) displayed a bunch of his outstanding shaving brushes...
Mr. Tucker Garrison http://web.comporium.net/~tgarrison5/Gallery.htmgave us an excellent demonstration of turning a shaving brush handle on a lathe.
This will also be a separate post.
It was a very enjoyable time for me. I hope I was able to help some of the new guys and I look forward to next year!Last edited by randydance062449; 05-01-2014 at 05:10 PM.

The number I pick is 29
State v. Durham, 323 N.W. 2d 243, 245 (Iowa 1982) (holding that a straight razor is per se a "dangerous weapon").
