I'm going to try to scare up a prize for the person who can keep two hones flat while rubbing them against one another. We really only need two stones as there is no question that the three stone system makes flat stones.
If we start with two flat stones I don't think it will take long for them to start dishing and crowning.Last edited by bluesman7; 05-20-2015 at 07:53 AM.

I did an experiment with two pieces of marble tile and 80 grit SiC, to see what kind of time frame we might be looking at. I started with lightly lapped pieces and the changes to the contours was painfully slow. Unless the changes happen faster with real hones, starting with flat hones I think will be too slow to do at the meet.

I think it would be a good time to start a count on who is coming and who is a maybe. I am definitely coming.

I'm pretty sure I can make it this year! It's been two years since I saw everyone last (also about the same amount of time I've been SR shaving).
I just pulled the trigger and bought a 1K Chosera after a few other members convinced me that's the way to start learning. I don't have anything else, though. I can bring it if we need it.
I was going to make a couple wood replacement scales for take home goodies (if anyone is interested).
