I'm going to try to scare up a prize for the person who can keep two hones flat while rubbing them against one another. We really only need two stones as there is no question that the three stone system makes flat stones.

If we start with two flat stones I don't think it will take long for them to start dishing and crowning.

I did an experiment with two pieces of marble tile and 80 grit SiC, to see what kind of time frame we might be looking at. I started with lightly lapped pieces and the changes to the contours was painfully slow. Unless the changes happen faster with real hones, starting with flat hones I think will be too slow to do at the meet.

I'm pretty sure I can make it this year! It's been two years since I saw everyone last (also about the same amount of time I've been SR shaving).

I just pulled the trigger and bought a 1K Chosera after a few other members convinced me that's the way to start learning. I don't have anything else, though. I can bring it if we need it.

I was going to make a couple wood replacement scales for take home goodies (if anyone is interested).

I will definitely be there. Will bring Chosera 1k, Naniwa 5k, 8k, and 12k, Suehiro/Gokumyo 20k and Crox and diamond strops for anyone who wishes to try.

The Sixth Annual Mile High Madness Meet is at The Garlic Knot 2553 S. Colorado Blvd. July 19 2015

The Garlic Knot opens at 11 AM and I plan to get there then. Most people showed up at noon last year.
