Thanked: 22092015 Minnesota Razor Meet May 23, 2015
Hey all
It is time for another Minnesota Razor Meet. The date is May 23, 2015
The place is a very different venue. It is a Whiskey/Rum/Scotch distillery!
The address is 704 Minnehaha Ave E. St. Paul MN 55106
Time is from 10 am til ?
Here is a link to their website. 11wells
How this came about...Rod Bell aka Rodb , met a local guy named Seth Reid who wanted to start using straight razors and Rod started helping him. Eventually we all got together, honed some razors and Seth invited me over to the distillery for a tour. I thought it was a very cool place. I broached the subject of having a razor meet there and Seth thought that would be cool so he spoke with his boss who agreed yesterday!
I look forward to seeing some of the old razor guys and a bunch of the new guys.
Post here if you can attend or have questions.

Thanked: 3795A friend of mine has volunteered to smoke pork for this event. He said it was not necessary, but if acceptable, I suggest that maybe a collection jar could be in place if the projected number of attendees gets very high? He is not a member here but I have converted him to DE razors and better soaps. Eventually a full conversion will be achieved!
Oh, and obviously, I will be attending!!!
Also, this is the obvious result of Mike Blue leaving the state--we end up at a distillery!Last edited by Utopian; 04-22-2015 at 10:49 PM.

Thanked: 995I think I've seen this before. At the turn of the century there were the robber barons who cornered the markets on their various industries...
Randy and Ron between them own nearly all the old hones in the world, they probably have acquired the secret recipes or mining sites and rights for the rest. Now they are moving into the aftershave world. It will sneak into our lives as a bay rum you can drink, or perhaps they'll test the market in northern MN as fuel to warm ice fishing houses or mosquito repellent...

Thanked: 3795Well, you are right on the hone recipes at least.
But the bay rum sounds like a good idea!
