Thanked: 3Shavecon in San Diego, April 15-17
Hello friends,
Are any of you planning to attend Shavecon in San Diego this April? I'm new to straight razor shaving and have never attended such a thing. Would this be a good event for a newbie to attend to learn more about shaving technique, honing, stropping etc?
Cheers,
Handjam

Thanked: 4826Well I had to google it. It looks like a vendor show. It does not appear to be like the user or grass roots meets that we all talk about on here. I can't imagine that it would be bad to attend. You likely will see a lot of product. As far as small group honing lessons it did not appear to be on the agenda. There are regular small group meets in southern California with some regularity, I would think more around LA the San Diego. If you PM 10pups he will give you some better ideas and so will Euclid440
It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!

It can't be bad, and the vendor interaction would be great. You mag want to look up The Big Shave West. It's in San Diego a week or so before and it's free.
The older I get the more I realize how little I actually know.

Thanked: 1184That looks like it might be fun. Might go next year. This year is not out but thinking more of sitting at a table than walking around with a drool bucket on :<0)
Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.
