John,
Proceed with the date you have in mind. If I can make it, I'll bring my Hollywood face.

Thanked: 3795Does your TV have an HDMI plug in? I would assume so but I'm not very knowledgeable about modern TVs. The one I have been taking to meet-ups is the first TV that I ever have bought. Others that I have used over the years were much older and acquired curbside! If you ever want a cheap TV, just watch for ones on the curb the day after Christmas!
Also, I will check to see if I also can plug into a USB outlet.
I definitely can bring a few coticules for you to try. If you think of it closer to the date, please remind me to do that.
I would expect to drive back the same night, but if for some reason it runs late, then I'll go for the Motel 6.

It has HDMI inputs, it was NOS, 1080p "dumb" tv. Picked it up cheap from Best Buy a few months back, parents are getting old and couldn't see my TV that well when they come up to visit. They would sit crazy close to my old 32" one, like kids playing videogames circa 1996.
I just assumed things that typically hook up to computers are USB outs, either case we can view it.
I've written myself a few post-its to remind me to bump the thread and poke people about this meet. I will add coticule reminder as well.

I'm suffering RAD and trying to get some scaleless blades. I have approx 12"x15" "tortoise", black and clear acrylic sheet.
Once I get my vintage strop, I'll have 3. One bonus is my picnic table is that grated kind, so at least 9 spots for strops. I heard through the grape vine that that can be a problem.
Any suggestions on anything necessary or "necessary"?

Thanked: 3795Well, beer is necessary
but as host you are no more responsible for food or drink than anyone else in attendance. However, Dave is responsible for the Kringles!
I not sure what you mean about the strops. Are you saying that you heard a shortage of strops is a problem? In my experience even just one strop is sufficient for most meet-ups.

Someone mentioned somewhere that places to attach them can be an issue.
I'll have the beers and refreshments, as well as some snacks as well incase of peckishness.

Thanked: 3795I usually bring a piece of rope with a small carabiner for that purpose. Any door knob can accommodate that, but your nine strop table will do!
You are under no obligation to provide food, but if you do choose to do so, and if vegetarian Richard comes, make sure you have cheese!

Door knobs at my place are kinda dodgy, I should probably tighten them up a little; so the pic-a-nic table will probably be best. Of course, this is if it doesn't rain. If it does, some macgyvering may be necessary.
My mother is currently a cheese-monger in a Kroger, she'd probably smack me upside the head if I didn't have a few WI cheeses! and crackers! Especially with WI beer!
I understand I'm under no obligation, but my genes will simply not allow me to avoid fattening up visitors.
