Knob Creek by the case is the order of business.
I was just thinking of a burger that I had in louisianna about a year ago at the burger king. I think it was called the texas whopper, and had bacon and jalapenos on it. I thought maybe I had found a new favorite burger, and then when I came back home, none of our local burger kings have it. maybe they will have it down at charlies
I can bring some Knob Creek for everyone else and Old Overholt rye for Charlie.
I do pass through the duty free shop at the airport, so if anyone has anything they would like duty free let me know. I don’t smoke or drink so I’m the perfect one to pick stuff up.
A forge and anvil in the parking lot of the Twilite, would be tame to somethings that has happened while you guys are there , much less over its history.
Knob creek will be freely flowing, if we run out of mine, I,m bringing Dave his half of a case.
Ok so Howard won't be coming, anyone going by his farm can grab his beer? Tc
Group might need that liscense Bruno, if if drink too much you might have to drive, i,m urea wecould find a couple phone books for you to see over my steering wheel! Just kidding.
That's mean, and funny.
I'd love to, but it would seem rude to drink his awesome beer without him around. It'd be better to politely show up at his shop and drink it there.
It would be tempting to try to re-create that history. We could take up a collection for buying a cigar and a girl...
Howard's dark beer was very, very good.
are we going to need grinders? I can bring mine that is 220 but I can make it 110. Not the fanciest but it would work. I have plenty of 72" belts to bring.
Randy I see you lurking!
How many anvils can't you fit in that Caddy?:rofl2:
I am hoping to do some hands on work learning about grinding and getting some base knowledge of metallurgy and forging. So I am really hoping that there will be grinders there.
There will be a grinder or two or three. I was just asking if we needed one more.
I have found that these meets are not a pre planned lesson plan and they rely on the learner to bring up questions and what they want.
I would like someone to bring a piece of bone and demo what they do to carve and or scrimshaw.....:)
We always need more grinders. It's just a matter of placement and power. I believe 220 outlets are limited so 110 would be better. If we could rig up a large hamster wheel, that might help too.
In Texas wouldn't Armadillos be more available than Hamsters?
We may need a higher gear ratio then.............
I will be bringing my high speed hogging grinder that we keep over by the forging area, hammers, some cold chisels (Randy and I had talked about another project), some extra safety glasses, and some ear plugs. I have yet to repair my forge gas line on my big forge, but hope to get to it and bring it to the meet as well.
My grinder is coming.
Ok, i will skip bringing my forge. Who knows what else i will bring!
Being that I have never forged or hammered anything, my ultimate goal is to have a blade that I can shave with that I made myself (with a lot of help and coaching of course).
The other, which is more important to me, is to make more lifelong friends.

I'm just looking forward to binge watching 'Bob Ross'.
Yes, Andy. Great guy. His wife is a very wise woman. :)
In any case, this one is the first one coming with me to Texas.

There are a lot of exciting things lining up for this meet. I get more stoked every day.
I think old Bob may have had a hash pipe just off camera.
He is super chill.
And we'll just put a happy little tree right over here.
Speakibg of "little razors", i have one to finish...
Do you have a dry board or chalk board at the shop Charlie?
