Is there any way someone could contact the range to see if centerfire rifles are allowed. No response to FB Pm's. I did fill out their rules/waiver form. Working nights has its ups and downs...

I packed a little bit of handle material. It was a tough call but I took the bare minimum. There are some things I want to make in between helping others. And while I would love to finish those things, realistically we all know that most of the time to make a handle or overall knife look good you spend a ton of time sanding. And Meet-time is too valuable to waste on that. I plan to spend most of the time either forging or grinding. I'll finish whatever I make afterwards.

I also bring
- some 1/8 brass and stainless rod for whoever needs some.
- a piece of O1 and some 1086.
- a short piece of 45 layer damascus.
- And finally a piece of 120 layer damascus that I want to draw out. @petercp4e I have a special pattern in mind for the meteorite razor, and I want to make a prototype using regular damascus and plain tool steel instead of meteorite and tamahagane. With such materials it is best to figure out the 'how to' beforehand.

I called they said yes they allow center fire rifles

I've never heard of any local ranges that didn't allow center-fire. Is that common in your area? It would certainly be cheaper to build the backstop.

A lot of indoor ranges only allow you to use slugs (and maybe 00 buckshot) in shotguns.
Steel core ammo is restricted at some indoor ranges.
Tracer rounds are not allowed at indoor range. Two local ranges have had to temporarily close due to fires from caused by tracer rounds.

The Bullethole range in Kansas City, KS only allowed rimfire rifles and no centerfire rifle rounds. It was an older indoor range. Shotguns were good to go, it's where I shot a full auto streetsweeper. Boy was that cool! I will gather up a bit of range goodies for sampling.

This is a bit old, but still pretty cool--

I remember that one! Its recoil system is what makes it so special. Kalashnikov is making a mag fed shotgun I have been eyeing. Simply put, any magazine fed shotgun is interesting. Wait until you put your hands on my Tac-13! Lots of power for a small package!

Many a year ago my father and I were at a friends remote cabin in the mountains, we were enjoying more than a few 'Barley Pops' and dad and our friend started discussing whether my dad's Model 12 Winchester shotgun or the friend's Remington (both pump loading guns) could fire all rounds without taking your finger off of the trigger.

Welllll--------- They pulled the plugs out so they could hold the maximum amount of shells and went outside and sure as hell, dad's model 12 would keep firing while he held the trigger and kept pumping shells but our friend had to take his finger off of the trigger so he could pump another shell in.

Well, if you had known my dad, you'd know that he just couldn't resist rubbing our friends nose in the fact that he was right and he reloaded and ran off another series and another.

When we got up the next morning, it was quite the sight. Pine branches laying on top of the snow also chunks of bark and once you looked up there were countless broken branches, huge chunks of missing bark---it looked like someone had declared war on those poor trees.

Damn I miss that old bastard he was one of a kind.
