So, I’m just gonna tell the wife that Roy said it was ok, and that she’ll still love me when I get back.

Hmmm, making plans for me is rather simple.
10 lb bag of cat food distributed into 4 cat food bowls
20 lbs of cat litter in 2 litter boxes
5 gallons of water in 3 big bowls
    kitchen light on
    security system on
ask my neighbor to watch the house for me
reserve a motel room in Kansas city and another in Burkburnett
    Done!
    { I wonder if the Twilite motel will still be open?}
    and the Star Diner?
The Star Diner seems to be operational--

The Twilight was harder to find so I just called and they are operational.

Guys we better be keeping an eye on what’s happening , and maybe be sure you have cancellation rights, not to be a downer, but some how this thing is looking worse than the surge last year. Granted we have the vaccines, but it’s still a gamble at this point in my mind. This coming from the guy who ain’t missed any since I started going, back when Lynn was there.

I know 3 months ago we were all excited. So here’s to hoping this thing gets under control, I’ve since locked down the wife again. Gotta keep the gal as long as I can

Im starting to think I might not be showing up. Too many things going on. Sorry guys. And to Victor! Its just too iffy on how this variant thing is going. I have to deal with strangers every day. I wash and mask up but Id hate it if I was to pass it to one of my friends.

I asked a friend the other day if we could get together for beers and grilling and he said great. Then i found out he didnt get any shots. Said he has issues with blood clots and didnt want to risk it. I left it alone but my understanding is only the "one shot" has that issue.

Its too bad as we havent spent time in the backyard drinking and grilling in over a year.

Yes, we do have to be pragmatic about this. We just gotta wait and see what this covid-19 will be like in January.
I know that I will be getting a booster shot before I attend. If for some reason I cannot get a booster shot then I will not be going this year. The consequences of me getting Covid-19 are not good at all.
But, based on what I have seen happen to the trajectory of Covid-19 in other countries it looks like the Texas Razor Meet will happen.

Ron and I have discussed this and agree to the following

All attendees must be vaccinated and have the booster.

Masks are to be worn at all times.

Breakfast will be at the shop. No diners

As I said in my above post.... let's wait and see what the situation is in January.

I haven't heard that a booster will definitely be available for me.

I've been wearing masks at our chess club which is held in a private room in a coffee shop. So far my opponents have been wearing masks too. The interesting thing is that I've run into some of my old band mates there, as it is an active music scene. They agree that Delta is here in our county and is a threat even if fully vaxed, but they're behaving as if it was 2019. Our county is doing pretty well with the seven day average case rate at ~15/100,000

I don't think Gov. Abbott will allow you to make those rules.
