Default My Summary of the North East Ohio Event

This weekend turned out to be the coolest thing that I have done in a long time. When I got there and checked into the motel I went to Lynn's home and met him and Jim Ayars from Vintage Blades. I met Lynn's dogs Murphy, Leo and Tilda short for Matilda. Lynn's dogs definitely have not missed a meal but they are cool and super friendly. Lynn and Jim and I talked, what else, razors, hones etc. We had a show and tell session. I will have to say that Lynn has some nice razors and a lot of them. Oh! I also met his wife Kathy of whom I have chatted with on occasion when I call Lynn. By the way she is pretty cool.

Later, Will from Classic Shaving, Tim Zowada from TZ Knives and Matt a friend of Will's showed up. This is the first time I had met or talked to Will. We have kind of a long distance personal relationship because of a razor story plus me taking donations from SRP members for a gift for his Mother-in-Law when her husband Ray Dupont passed away. We talked and smoked cigars and drank beer for some time.

Then Bill Sadataki, Don Adelman, Chris and Nick showed up. We continued talking about razors and showing them to each other.

I talked to Tim Z. about how he made damascus steel. Now that was an interesting conversation I actually learned a lot.

Later we all went out and ate sushi and drank Hot Sake. Wow!! that was good stuff. The food was great.

The next day was spent at the Hill n' Dale Club. We ate some great food. I got to talk to some great people. I got to have a great shoot with some of the guys. I got to look at some super razors, hones, brushes etc.

Now I want to thank Bill Sadataki and Don Adelman for creating this event. They did a super job in planning this. Don told me that he thought there was only going to be three at this event, Him, Bill and Lynn, so he only ordered three prizes. He was just kidding, I think.

PEOPLE WE MUST THINK THAT THIS EVENT WOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED IF IT HADN'T BEEN FOR LYNN ABRAMS. HE HAD THE FORESIGHT TO START THE YAHOO SRP AND SRP.COM. SO ALL OF THIS IS ACTUALLY HIS BABY SO WE NEED TO GIVE HIM A BIG HAND. THANKS LYNN.

Lynn is actually a super person. You can call him and he will help you all he can to solve a problem or give you some hints on honing or whatever. He did me a great favor of which I will never forget. So thank you Lynn.

What was even more cool was meeting people that you chatted with on SRP.com or the Yahoo group.

I want to thank Chris for his talents in honing and polishing blades and spending the time to instruct others in his skill.

I want to thank Jim Ayars from Vintage Blades for his just talking to me. I think we had a good time doing so. I think that we bonded somewhat because we were the two oldest people there of which we joked about to each other.

I want to thank Tim Zowada from TZBlades for all of his explanations of how to make damascus steel and other razor and knife stuff. This man is a credit to his craft.

I want to thank Will from Classic Shaving for his donations to the door prizes. Also, just for the privilege of just meeting him he is pretty cool. I know his wife Danielle from some other communications with her.

I want to thank Josh for his explaining how he made that blade that he brought plus showing others how to hone.

I want to thank all of the vendors Will from Classic Shaving, Tim Ayars from Vintage Blades, Colleen from The Gentlemens Quarter, Keith DeGrau from Hand American, Mama Bear from Bear Haven, and Sue from St. Charles Charles Shave for their donations to the door prizes. I believe that they donated in the range of $4000 worth of prizes. Way to go.

The above comments show what kind of brotherhood we have with its members. They are some of the greatest people one could know. I don't know of a more close nit group and still being from mostly a long distance communications type of membership.

THIS SRP GROUP REALLY ROCKS THANKS GUY AND GALS THIS PAST WEEKEND WAS SUPER
