    Default Southern California Get Together

So let me be the first to say -

Woe to ye who could not make it to this fantastic event. No, I don't want to rub it in...but it kinda sucks being you (tongue in cheek guys but it does suck being you! ha ha ha ha ha!)

    Fist off:

A million "thank you's" to David (Heavy D) and his family for their most giving and gracious hospitality. For allowing us iron bearing ruffians into their most beautiful home, and sharing all that was theirs with us. Good food, drink and company! On a scale of 1-10 a definate 20+. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

When I got up this AM it was gloomy and rainy. But by the time I arrived at David's home, the sun was shining. I think even the Gods were intimidated by so many sharp edged carrying dudes, they didn't dare provide anything but perfect weather for us!

What a great bunch of guys. You know, when going to an event where you've only met the people through the internet, you never know what you'll get. I have to admit, I had my share of trepidation. For all I knew I was walking into a den of hoodlums. Well, on second thought, maybe....uh, never mind.

No, really - true gentlemen all.

To Sergio - thanks dude for the cigars!

To all the rest - thanks for a wonderful day!

Finally to Mark - Dude! You've got a serious RAD problem! As I told you, you got way too many razors. I am willing to provide you some serious intervention. As a friend (as I now hope you can consider me) Send me half, no, on second thought, just send me that 7 day Dovo set. Sending that to me will be a good start to your recovery. Just send it to my address (you know the one) and then start repeating the Serenity Prayer and all will be fine.

Thanks guys for a great day. Can't wait til next time.

    Scott

(By the way, I'm back home not even a hour and I'm already back on this forum...... yes, I'm a sick bastard too!)

I had a wonderful time. A million thanks to David (HeavyDuty) for arranging this event. You and your folks were so hospitable and gracious, that backyard is like an oasis.

Sergio: Thank you for donating the floid aftershave. I shaved tonight and had a chance to use it. Wow! Talk about a cooling aftershock...strong stuff. I wish I had a chance to stick around and smoke a cigar with you.

Mark: Your collection rocks...I wish to claim secondary dibs (after jscott) on the Dovo 7-day set and any +7/8 sheffield-region razors you sell in the future. In case I have a razor you wish to buy, I will accept farm-fresh chicken eggs in lieu of payment. Mmm, I love eggs...

Thank you scott for the stropping demonstration, it was great meeting you.

I hope to see everyone else soon, you guys were all great.

    Kind regards,

    Tony (richardhead).

PS: long live the pink razor!

I would like to thank everyone in attendance today, and a special thanks to David, his girlfriend, who took all the pictures, and Davids family who so graciously let a whole group of men with sharp objects in their house, men they had never met and didn't know!
I had a great time and am so glad I got to meet all of you!!!

Who? Me? No no no...you got it wrong! I'm just a modest collector.

And yes, I do consider you my friend as I consider everyone I met today a friend...

...Just keep your grubby hands off my razors!
