Ladies and Gents,
We had a really good time today at our little Austin meet-up. There were nine total who showed up and the experience level ranged from newbie to seasoned veterans and a little in between. Thanks to Ken (kenrup) for coming from San Antonio and for the expertise and generosity that he brings to the table. Ken also provided an El Toro strop and some of his own bay rum after shave for the door prize drawing. Thanks to Darren (vgod) for driving all the way from Dallas to participate and for his insight. Thanks to Mike(msandoval858), Raffel(scorpio), and Russel (aquanin) for the homemade soap they brought for everyone. Thanks to Jordan(foundlingofdollar) for getting this thing off the ground, to David (tecate) for the nice piece of leather he put into the drawing and Damon (O'Gan) for coming. Although we did not get snap-happy with the camera, there will be a group photo posted to prove this really happened. It was great to meet all of you guys and I hope to see ya'll sometime soon.
Thanks again everyone,

Thank you everone for the great time. It was very informative!! Great to meet you all. I wish I could have stayed longer.
Note: I cannot take credit for any of Mike and Raf's soaps as they are the ones that make those.

Jason? (Sorry if that is wrong I am bad with names) Was it you that gave me that Chrome Oxide? I just have to say thank you. I just pasted my strop last night and stropped on it tonight and just shaved. Holy cow, best shave ever with a straight so far!!! was able to go ATG everywhere and I almost have BBS on my entire face. Thanks again!! If you need some tips if you start making scales, let me know.

Basher, I just started making scales. I am getting ready to probably make some for mike, raf and for a wapi and DA myself so I might be busy for a while on those. I will let you know if I get some time after those sets.

Jordan, but that's cool, I'm no good with names either. I'm glad the ChromeOx worked out well for you. I found it brought a few lagging razors right back to life for me. The ultimate thanks goes to ChrisL for his small quantities of ChromeOx for $5 program.
I'm just starting a set of scales right now (my first), but it'll be slow as I'm planning on working it all by hand.

New To This
So i am brand new to the world of straight razor. So new I don't own one and thus have never used one. I would love to meet up in Austin with anyone soon so I can learn the ropes. Is there going to be a get together anytime soon??
