Some dates to consider. Let me know what you gents think:
Friday Sept. 19th or 26th
Doesn't have to be a Friday. I can pretty much get anywhere in the general vicinity (Bay Area) rather easily.
Still finalizing a location. I'm thinking it's going to be either East Bay (Berkeley or Oakland) or South Bay (Sunnyvale, Palo Alto, Menlo Park, etc). Let me know if you have any suggestions.
This was one suggestion:

I like the idea of a pub. Good food and good drink selection.

I think either date will work for me. I like the pub idea also, Please make sure it's one with decent motels within walking distance as I will probably stay the night rather than try to drive home to Woodland. By the way, Thank you for putting this together.

I'll be out of town on the 19th, but I'll be around on the 26th. I'd prefer to meet on a weekend day, but weekdays are fine, too.
Oh, I'll bring my Nakayama, in case anyone wants to run their razors up and down it to get a sense of the kind of edge it leaves.

Weekend date in East Bay location would be best for me but I can go along with whatever is best for the most members.

How 'bout 28 Sep.? that's about the only day I'mm free this month. Friday is good too but I'd need to be at work by noon so a south bay location would be good (Palo Alto, Fremont, San Jose or anyplace south of the San Mateo bridge.).

All righty then, so I've had some suggestions for Saturday Sept. 27th. We can do a lunch meet up at the British Bankers Club. Let's say 1PM.
There are some motels in Menlo Park, and tons in the surrounding areas, if you are coming from a distance longer than a day trip. Here's one for instance, four minutes away:
Best Western Executive Suites
25 5th Ave. Redwood City, CA 94063-3601
(650) 366-5794
I'll be bringing some of my recent acquisitions for show and tell. Please feel free to bring whatever you'd like. If anyone is keen on demonstrating some techniques, that would be appreciated, especially anything relating to honing.
Let me know with just a: Yay, Nay, or Maybe in your reply if you're planning to attend.
I should also add that we'll decide on some identifiable way to locate our group. Maybe a pirate flag in the center of the table? I'll bring something, you'll know where we are.Last edited by bpave777; 09-04-2008 at 06:28 PM.

Yay. I can bring some stones, but wouldn't hold my technique up as exemplary. I'll also bring a couple of my more interesting razors.
