So far, barring work/life complications, I'm still in!

    Hi_bud_gl.

As far as food goes, I will get 2 things of brats (that should be about 2 apiece). I will get some chicken breasts to cook: I just did some on the grill with pecan wood smoke and they turned out pretty well.

I also will hit Allewel's and see what they have as far as interesting meats.

I don't usually eat things like chips and whatnot, but someone should be the designated snack-bringer.

We also need someone to bring side dishes. Tater salad or whatever tickles your fancy. If you have something you would like me to cook, or would like to share...feel free to post here and let me know!

Timeline: approx 1pm til you decide you need to go home. I just got rid of my futon, so I suppose you could sleep on my floor or couch... or in the gutter in front of my house if it suits you. Just don't expect more than a strong cup of coffee for breakfast.

If there's going to be brats and beer, why do we need anything else? Come to think of it, do we really need the brats?
I can bring "tater salad" and/or tabouli and/or a smoked apple cobbler.

That's how I think! If we want to keep it simple, someone else should bring 2 packs of brats also and we can just cook those.

Also, what the hell is a tabouli?

Edit: I just emailed OLD_SCHOOL to purchase one of his fancy Japanese hones, it would be really cool if I had it when we get together, eh?

Tabouli is a middle eastern salad made of cracked bulgur wheat, parsley, tomatoes, cucumbers, lemon, olive oil, mint, and a few other bits. Basically I have found it to be a handy thing to bring to potlucks because its pretty much guaranteed that no one else will bring it.

I can bring a couple of Japanese hones as well--a pair of Nakayama Asagis. If needed, I can also bring a couple Eschers, a Chinese 12K, a Spyderco UF, a few coticules, and a few barber hones. That might bring down my gas mileage but I'm willing to make the sacrifice!

From your list, does that mean Lynn can't make it?

    Tabouli sounds neat, bring that!

I have a Spyderco UF, so don't worry about that if you don't want to, heck that's .005 mpg you just saved.

I PM'ed Lynn and got no response, so I am assuming he is not coming. Either way, it's no big deal.
