It's about time we got the planning started for this year's jamboree. Funny thing is, Silver & I were talking about doing something to get this started earlier today....
Obviously, we will need to get some sort of consensus for location & date before we plot further. What I will say is that I am more than happy to coordinate planning & organisation for this year's bash. Unless someone else really wants to do it of course

LOL Well unless we start putting ideas for dates and locations forward we are not going to get anywhere!
So are we going to make a weekend out of this or not is the first question.
Second let's tentatively float a date out there as a starting point.
How about 11 - 13 September??
Are we still heading for the Highlands? It would be good if Mr Makar got back in on this thread as he is the one suggesting a location, so he will know if the venue is available or not.
Over to you gents.
PS - Spike has provisionally banned me from breast feeding during any shaving demos to prevent major blood losses.

Well today I have PM'd everyone who came last year and everyone who wanted to but couldn't, plus a few others for good measure. Spike has also got in touch with a couple of new UK members to give them the heads up as they joined after last years meet.
I'm already looking forward to this years meet up, just remember Mark and Stephen I will be back to playing golf by then too, woohoooo, hehehe.
I should also add that everyone is welcome to the Meet, not just UK members. If there is anyone in Europe or the rest or the world that would like to come, you are all more than welcome.Last edited by Silver; 03-01-2009 at 03:52 PM.

I've just heard back from my old business partner who is going to be making some individual Leather Razor cases for us for this years Raffle.

Thanked: 84I'm firstly going to be selfish here.
My vote for location is The Gower. YOU WILL NOT get a nicer location. (pubs, beaches, forests, cheep rooms, local knowledge ME, pubs, walks, history, pubs etc etc)
In reply to Silvers concerns about getting a boob out. Anyone who objects to a Lady feeding her babies the way we were designed to, should have a part of their body struck roundly with a hammer.
But, if I had to go with a fare location, I'd say Bristols....sorry Bristol...still thinking of a previous subject
Anyway, Bristol is quite an easy place to get to from most parts of the UK.
If it has to be Scotland, fare enough. It is nice and I get free-travel anyway.
I wonder if the Dragons Tongue quarry would throw a stone in?

Thanked: 131I read this wrongly and thought two things:
1. As *ahem* extrovert as she may be i'm sure a few people might raise an eyebrow if Silver were to do a shave demonstration of her particular method of shaving. Such demonstrations might raise a few eyebrows and attract an altogether different crowd.
2. Any woman who attempts to breastfeed and shave that special place at the same time needs her head examined! I would be firmly with Spike on this one love, its completely out of order!

This is homecoming year in the HIghlands - no better time to visit and enjoy! The outdoor centre is available for about £15 a night per head and we could have a hoot for a weekend out there if folks wished to do that (Morvich Kintail - google it!). I can lead a hill walk and arrange a days kayaking with the ranger there ( I know him very well). Or we can just book a hall in Nairn or Inverness and do the same kinda day we did last September.
Fights into Inverness are cheap and easy from London or the East Midlands - Ireland too. As for Gower, well weesilverblade, 'am no convinced. We came all the way to Brum last year and you did not make it that far I remember - this year your penance should be a journey north. And you get it free anyway!
September suits me fine - baby in June all going well so that will give me some time to recover. Not that I'm having it but I will be helping to mop up .
I think the outdoor centre weekend should be seriously considered - it's not often that some folks will get the chance to see the highlands and we could hire a miinibus and drive out to Kintail (1hr 20 mins from Inverness) seeing some top notch highland scenery on the way. Modesty aside - if you had to pay for my guiding that would bump it up considerably. But I will do it free gratis and with pleasure
Also - there need be no compulsion to do something energetic. If we had a minibus somebody other than me could put their name down and drive around on tour for the more recument among us. A decent whisky distillery could be visited. Lots of options.
cheers

And so it begins!
If last years thread is anything to go by this one will be full of wit and slangs too! Sir Sandy, if you are in our neck of the woods visiting the Outlaws again this year please let us know, can't wait to see you again.
Moggs, no worries. We know from last year there were SWMBO birthdays and Wedding Anniversary's around the 20th, not to mention freshers week for some members too, hence pulling the date forward a little.
If anyone else has any date suggestions feel free to throw them in.
Stephen, congratulations!! When in June is your new arrival due? We're really looking forward to Squid's arrival, there are some days I really can't wait.
