Thanked: 9Thanks for the PM! I hadn't noticed this thread. This sounds like fun - what better to do in September?
I voted for Midlands/North, but I'm warming to the idea of a Scotland trip. I love it up there. To be honest, I don't mind travelling to wherever.

Thanked: 11Given that it looks like this is all set to become an annual affair, I think moving it around is a great idea. It might give more peeps a chance to come to at least one. I voted for the North/midlands coz I'm lazy, and would like it near hand, but I too am warming to the idea of Scotland. They never really got the hang of making whiskey but they're not a bad bunch.

Chimensch made it over from Italy last year, our only Euro representative.
LOL Oh Ray! Now you are showing your innocence, welcome to the insanity my friend. It's only going to get worse from here on in.
Well, I can't promise a corset this year Mr Mark, but there will be one for the 2010 Wales meet.

Result!
I mailed the National Trust for Scotland to enquire about availability of the Kintail Outdoor Activity centre, as there seems to be a lot of support for the Highland Fling idea. They could take twenty of us at £15 pppn but only on the weekend of the Friday 4th to Monday 7th September. I will ask what sort of deposit they require & pass it on. It would be silly not to really. Makar says that, if necessary, there are B&Bs in the area, but not a huge number. I will look into it anyway.
It might be worth hiring a minibus, if there are numbers of us not driving & needing to get from Inverness to the centre. Not to mention on to a distillery at some point over the weekend.
So is this a flyer? Silver, Makar & myself are definitely up for it..... I will not be asking for a definite yes yet but could do with an idea of if it is feasible.

Thanks Spike - nice not to organise this one but delighted to help! Walking, kayaking, distillery trip etc. are all possible to make it more than just a razor fest. Although it will be that too for sure...
