Man, I can't believe I missed it!
Sounds like it was great fun, and I'm mighty jealous.

Well you are in Rochester, aren't you? I know that at least ScottS, Joe, Karen and I are also either in Rochester or frequently in Rochester. I would be happy to have any of you (or others in the area) over to my place for a little get together. Or, for something less formal, The Old Toad or Monty's Krown are great places to go out to grab a drink and/or a bite to eat. I actually initially met Joe and Karen out at Monty's and then we went back to my apartment (which is quite close) for a little show and tell. At the time, there was a teriffic vanillia java porter and Murphy's on tap, and Joe and I bonded over beer a bit.

Actually, I'm in Buffalo -- which is why I couldn't go. About a four hour round-trip, and a pile of work that I'm actually still working on. But hopefully, this won't be the last one...

Thanked: 1I went to the meet, and had a great time! I learned alot about straights, and even tried out a feather (looks like a straight but with a disposable blade.)
I want to thank the hosts Joe and Karen for having us! The food was great, and the razor roll is really nice (although, I just have 1 razor atm...) My friend who came with me said he had fun and learned alot. I also have some new hones to play with, but now I need to get a ebay razor to use on them lol.
I also got my razor back into action, however I haven't had a chance to shave yet, plus my face needs recovery time from that feather
FYI, I'm in Amherst (Buffalo area) so in the future maybe us Buffalo area people can car pool or something.

Thanked: 21By way of update, that Waterville that Joe sharpened then finished off on the coticule is working out very nicely. It's my daily shaver for now. I haven't tried the Dovo classic that I touched up myself yet.

I love how I've got my eyes closed in that group pic. It was that darned double flash...
