So that should work. Hm. Okay, I'll ask around for a venue, okay?

Fine for me. But I personally would not pick a date in the high summer season. It would be sad to miss this gathering for being on vacation with the wife and kids. I think that a weekend in September might be better. (and possibly also cheaper to book a hotel).

Berlin's a pretty cool city and it actually costs more in general to park my car at my local low cost airport than to fly to Berlin. Timing's pretty flexible for me (my boss, and not the swmbo one that sucks up the money, but the one that actually gives me money, might influence things though), so just propose something and I'd be happy to fly in if I have the opportunity.

    Right. Let me summarise:

    1. Berlin is pretty cool. I tend to agree with that.
    2. September is also cool. No problems here. Prices are probably the best in any western European city, and there is a lot to be seen: Berlin on a Budget - Budget Tips for a Trip to Berlin
    3. Saturday is probably best, as the shops will be open.
    4. I have sent out a few emails to see if I can arrange for a proper venue.
    5. First round is on me.

    Everybody fine with that?

Shame on me for only knowing one sentence in Dutch, but it has always been a great help on the left lane of the Autobahn: Ik zal nu uw sleurhut in de brand zetten.

Robin, sounds all great to me. Second round on me then. I do hope they have decent beer in Berlin. If you need any specific help with the organization of this event, just shoot me a PM.

We do have some truly horrible stuff, too: Aufsturz, Berlin - Restaurant Reviews - TripAdvisor. Something for everybody, including the **** they serve as Bier in Berlin. But also Czech and Franconian beers.

Thanks for the offer to help. I will probably take you up on that.

Hmm... Dates. Should we open a poll for this? How about 12 September?

Stop it. I'm spilling my beer. It's not nice to spill Belgian beer.

    Let's set up a poll.

1.I would attend a EU-gathering in Berlin on Sat 12 September.

    2. I would attend a EU-gathering in Berlin on another date.

    3. I would attend a EU-gathering on Sat 12 September, but only if it was on another location. (please post your preferred location)

    4. I would attend a EU-gathering, but neither this date nor location suite me.

No, it is not. Allegedly, the scenes in Alien where the alien's saliva burns through the floor were filmed using...

Right. Is it safe to presume that our UK friends still consider the continent "overseas"?

Here you go. Thanks a lot for the input (poll won't accept more than 100 characters per question): http://straightrazorpalace.com/get-t...an-srpcon.html
