Lynn...
Four comments on your pics.
1. Nice shots. Thanks for posting
2. Who is that old guy wearing my clothes? When did this happen?
3. Wessell is doing nothing to shed the Tech Geek stereotype....sitting in a corner...with his computer...drinking a Red Bull
4. That Don guy has some seriously nice inventory.Last edited by Bill S; 06-11-2009 at 03:07 PM.

Well finally I get to sit down and jaw about the North Carolina gathering.
First I trust that all made it home safely.
I want to tip my hat to Doc and Martha for setting this up. It was a stupendous job on their part. I believe that kudos also goes to Rob and Lee for helping. You all did well.
Next it was great to see Lynn, Don and Bill S again as I met them at the Ohio meet last February 2008.
It was just super to meet new guys that I have PM’d or emailed on occasion over the past few years. The two that I wanted to meet were Randy Tuttle (randydance062449) and Allen Davis (AFDavis11) since they have been members with me since 2005. It was really cool meeting them. I also want to consider them my friends as well as Lynn, Don, Bill S., Doc, Martha, Lee, Dave, Molly, Rob, Joe, Simon, Tim, Glen, Ronnie, Chris, Charlie and any others that want to join the list.
This was really a cool event in that all of us seemed to belong to a big family. Everyone got along well with each other it was like a big family reunion.
It all started Friday evening with dinner at Trips where the food was super. Then several of us went to the “Jack of the Wood” pub and had some good conversation with good drink. Saturday was awesome as we all met at the Trinity Baptist Church and from 9 til 5 we witnessed honing demonstrations given mostly by Lynn and Glen which by the way was very informative for those that didn’t quite have the art down. I know Glen went home pretty much hairless on the arms. There were many many razors, hones and all of the things that go with that. Many were just awesome to drool over. Glen also gave a demo on tapping the pin to round it. Tim (oldblades) had so many razors that he took up four or five tables. Believe me he has some nice ones.
Dave got the webcast working and that was pretty awesome in itself. A lot of the members took advantage of that and asked several questions and hopefully learned something.
For lunch Martha cooked up some killer hot dogs with all of the trimmings, way to go Martha.
That evening we ate sushi at the Wasabi Japanese Cuisine and since I love the stuff it was awesome. We had good conversation and some hot Sake.
Later we split up and some went to a cigar bar and Doc, Martha, Lee and I went to another bar and chatted some. Well they chatted it was somewhat on the loud side so I just listened and picked out what I could. It was fun though.
Sunday was neat as we had a BBQ at Lake Julian. The food was just super Doc and Martha, again, did a bang up job on this. I really enjoyed listening to some of the stories they told. Then it was all over and all went home except for a few. That evening Doc, Martha, Glen, Lee and I went out to eat for our final farewell get together. After that we went over to Doc’s home and Martha enlightened me with her expertise on their Australian Cattle Dog (Blue Healers) rescue home. It was really interesting and I finally got to meet one of their old buddies that they have had for some time. He was pretty cool. Martha has a passion for these dogs that is above anything you will ever see.
This whole thing was just awesome and the most fun that I have had in awhile hopefully I can attend the one next year.
Oh! yes Doc I hope you like the razor that I made for you. I actually made it some time ago after you drove several miles to retrieve the giveaway prizes and thought then that I would give it to you at this gathering.Last edited by str8razor; 06-11-2009 at 08:29 PM.
