I voted for the first weekend in August for no real reason other than to get this party started.

Looked at the Calendar at work for days off and any of the Aug dates look OK so far...
The July date would be harder to pull off, but it is not out of the question so far....

I can come on any of the dates listed once the function is solidified.

Since I have not heard from anyone about this in a while. I am going to go for August 15 as a one day event.

I am NOT reserving rooms at the hotel because if they do not sell I am on the hook for them. So it looks like the cost of the hall is $620. So If I can get 30 people to preregister by say May 1. That keeps it to $20 a person.

If more people come and register the excess money will go to something for the SRP. I guess Lynn and I will talk about that.

I really want Vendors and collectors and people to show off at this event. A gathering of friends is nice but, I want this to be a learning and fun experience for all.

So honers, restorers, collectors, barbers, what have you. Get involved.

    IMPORTANT:
To preregister, please paypal me the money so that I can get it to the hotel to hold the room.

Once I have your money I will mail you out a package about the city and places to find stuff. If you live in PDX and do not want this let me know that as well.

Once I know who is coming I can get a better picture of what the event schedule will look like.

Like I stated before. There will probably be a welcome speech and then workshops, demos, buying/selling/trading, I am hoping for doorprizes and giveaways but I have not heard anything back from anyone in that regard.

I am going to contact Colleen and Emily again to see if they want to contribute. If anyone wants to contribute to a door prize drawing please email me at the above address.

The best to all who attend. Unfortunately that date is out for me. A one day trip also a bit pricey from California. Enjoy, wish I could be there.

I know, sorry for the 1 day thing, but the convention is not getting the reception that I had hoped so I took it to 1 day.

If it goes off well, next year may be two days.

    ALSO!!!

TGQ and Em's Place will be donating for raffles and/or samples!!!

Thank you Em's Place and TGQ!!!

Singlewedge. Having done some club organization work I know how much effort you have put in. I personally think it is a good idea, but as with most clubs and organizations there a few workers and the efforts are not equally shared. It doesn't matter tho if the organization or club or group benefits from your efforts. It is when you have a great idea and put in a lot of work only to find that not so many others thought too much about it that it can be a bummer.

Perhaps we all can meet up at the SRP convention in Vegas. Sshhh, who said that?

If there is one my family would love to be there.

Of course, I would be baby sitting while the wife is off gambling or doing other non-child things.

That's ok. Cause my kids love to shop for str8s. My oldest goes antiquing with me all the time. We make a game out of who can find what the fastest. He is one of the fastest brush finders I know of.
