Up in Rochester, we usually do honing demos and hone blades for those who need help/don't have hones, JoeD often does some resto demos (pinning, buffing wheels, MAAS, etc) and works on people's blades, we often swap blades for shaves to test out other people's razors/get feedback on honing, talk soap/cream/AS with CarrieM. We also chat about whatever other stuff might come up, often have cigars, and always have a great meal! There is also always good beer.

So I'm still hoping to be able to come down, but it's a bit of a drive. I'm not sure if I would drive down Friday night and leave Sat night or drive down Sat morning and leave Sunday morning...
Could anyone recommend somewhere in the area to stay.

Thanks for the info, Nate. Unfortunately, staying overnight is a bit more that I can swing, but maybe I'll be feeling ambitious come Saturday and make a day of it. I'll keep you posted.

I live in Downingtown now (move from Ohio a few weeks ago). If my stupid house was finished I would have room for a couple people but the builder has pushed it back from the end October to the end of November first of December.
One of the cigar shops I frequent has a big back room complete with big screen. You could get 20 people in there. I could probably talk him into letting us use it if needed. International Tobacco in King of Prussia.
Cigars, not a problem, shooting, Leehigh Vally Sporting clays club is awesome. Clays course set up in an old rock quarry, even have a heliport if you want to fly in. Cigarsinternational is just down the road from there as well. Huge place if you have never been there. The 19th of this month is pretty short notice. I could probably make it, no idea where that town is.
My entire workshop is in storage so no lathe work, scale making or much of anything else right now. Got my hones and pinning kit so we could alwayse pin a few blades and do some honeing.

I am in. I will bring along a wide selection of assorted cigars for a small donation (I will even toss a few Cubans in). I bring my hones, pinning kit, some mini wheels grinding grit for sanding blades, some polishing stuff. My baby drill press (dremel workstation) and a fist full of resin finished wood scales if anyone wants to pick up some scales and rescale some blades, and a few blades.
I will bring along a couple soaps from SRD and a couple Stephens Woodworking silvertip brushes. If you ever wanted to try some custom razors, bring your beard. I will bring along two Robert Williams (8/8 wedge and hollow) my big Joe Chandler chopper, a couple Herbert Wackers and whatever else I feel like.
So what is this place, a club, meeting hall, your house???

Unfortunately, I'm not going to be able to make it down after all. Hopefully next time - I love me a good meet. I'll keep an eye out for pictures and stories.

Holli4pirating,
when you have a meet up, there in NY, let me know I'll come up, or at least lead you on for a few weeks, and let you stress about if I'm going to be there or not.
