Thanked: 317Maybe I'm just showing my ignorance here, but wouldn't everybody have to be a mason to meet at the Masons' Lodge?

No. Masons, ELKS, etc generally will rent out their Lodge, Hall (or whatever the respective group calls it) for events. I haven't seen the Lodge in Beaverton but I'm sure it'd be fine for this type of an event. A first time situation such as this wouldn't be expected to draw thousands of people but if planned out well it'll get the word out and assist in pulling in more visitors for future events. Anyway I'm not sure if this is the same Lodge but if you check out the link they have inforation about renting the Lodge space for events.

Thanked: 0I'm up in Seattle, and would love to attend! Are spousal units allowed?
Can't help much with organization, though.

Thanked: 13252I am assuming a Sat / Sunday event????
BTW at the one in NC, Doc sets aside 8 plus hours for demos etc: and still, we ran out of time two years in a row...
Those are rather large as meets go, so there were tons of Q&A...
If I can make this I will drive over which means I can bring "STUFF"
Stones, Hones, Strops and Razors wooooohooooo

Spouses can come. They may not find it very interesting unless a fellow shaver can get his wife to do a leg shaving demo, LADIES ONLY. We don't want guys ogling other guy's women.
Demos and stuff, that could take time. I think 8 hours split into blocks with q & as and other stuff thrown in would work.
Here is a list and pics of the ladies from Hair M that I would be inviting for Shaves, Cuts, and Massages. I am not sure if I can negotiate a price cut, but I think for mutual advertising we could work something out.
I have not contacted the lodge. But it would be at an Elks or some other lodge. Perhaps a church with a large meeting space. We have several of those here.
Saturday and Sunday for sure.

I was looking at the Facebook page for Hair M. They have a newsletter and a sound board for events and charities.
A canned food/clothes drive for the Union Gospel Mission in downtown would be great. They are the biggest mission in the area and serve more homeless and displaced people than you can shake a stick at. They also put emphasis on getting you OFF THE STREET. Which is why I like them.
I think posting something like that to them may get the attention of Hair M and perhaps there services as well. Not to mention the face book press.
