Thread: Portland Oregon 2010 Get Together!?

Well I thought, after getting and email from a member here, that I should ask if there is interest in a get together in Beaverton Oregon at the local Mason's Lodge?

There are three different barbers in the area that do straight shaves. One of them also does massages, facials etc.

We have lots of beer and coffee here as well as great people. I can supply attendees with a map of local antique stores to haunt.

Maybe I can ask real nice and my barber can bring her friends for some shaving and massaging. Turn it into a PR thing for both the board and the company.

To re-affirm my e-mail earlier today. I'd love to help out with whatever I can to make this a reality. I think it would be a great thing for the local straight shave crowd to get together and exchange information. techniques, local shops for supplies, etc, etc... not to mention the beneficial "hands on" experience for new guys (such as myself). If there's anyone else in the PDX/Northwest region give a holler so that we can make this event a reality.

I would love to attend...however, im not close enough to contribute with organizing.

Maybe I'm just showing my ignorance here, but wouldn't everybody have to be a mason to meet at the Masons' Lodge?

No. Masons, ELKS, etc generally will rent out their Lodge, Hall (or whatever the respective group calls it) for events. I haven't seen the Lodge in Beaverton but I'm sure it'd be fine for this type of an event. A first time situation such as this wouldn't be expected to draw thousands of people but if planned out well it'll get the word out and assist in pulling in more visitors for future events. Anyway I'm not sure if this is the same Lodge but if you check out the link they have inforation about renting the Lodge space for events.

No I kinda wanted to see what the others felt like. Winters in the surrounding states can be nasty. Washington's passes close easily and Idaho closes easy as well.

It would be great to have everyone that can attend attend. Those that have magical abilities like Glen I would be more than happy to give free reign as far as restore q & as and honing q & as and the like.

I am in the Western Washington area...Gig Harbor actually...The last weekend of April would be awsome timing. Might have to make a weekend out of it with the family down to Portland.

Wow. I can't believe I missed this thread. As I have been humping for such a gathering I will do my best to get down for it. It would be great to meet with more of you gents in person.
