Nah, we just compare who has the widest one (hone), the biggest one (razor), the longest one (strop), the most lubricating one (soap), the hardest one (hair), the deepest one (scuttle) and the smoothest one (edge). Or at least that is what I think I saw in the get together videos.

Im going to ask the the good people at the Middle East club/restaurant in Cambridge if we can use one of the performance rooms on a sunday day, that way we can have acces to a bar and food plus its an awsome place would that be good with most interested members? the vets and ethnic private halls are big and maybe if this was goona be an event that would work but for this, a bar or pub with a backroom seems better are Sundays a problem with anyone? if not once I get the ok from a space we can narrow some dates down

Update for a Boston get togather The Burren in Davis Sq Somerville good Irish pub has a large back room that is usally closed on saturday till they get going full swing for saturday nite. I asked staff and they said sure we canr open it. I still need the ok from the managment and I will ask them this week. hows one weekend in early in December as possible Saturday morning at the Burren sound, do people want to just gather and talk with a few razors and hones if folks want to bring in allot of gear then we might need a rental hall and then Im back to calling social clubs and there will be a fee. My feeling is just a simple get togather and meet people

Thanked: 0interested
I'd be interested in some advanced honing help, so the only gear i'd think to bring would be stones.

Thank you Medic, that sounds good to me. A reserved back room in an Irish pub with a direct access to beer sounds just about right.

Thanked: 953Sounds terrific. Just remind me not to strop or hone after three beers. [or maybe I'll bring my nubak, and find out how far that "doesn't cut the strop" guarantee goes!]

Hm, that's a six hour drive for me... I'll keep an eye on the thread, but no promises.
