Too bad. I'm kinda on the fence about straights. I just can't seem to get a decent edge and I know that my bevels aren't straight or equal on both sides either. I'm starting to wonder if this is worth it for me. I do love to hear the best things about them but I just can't seem to get it to the point that it is satisfying to shave or hone/strop. I know it's a huge learning curve.
Is there anyone around Long Island who can teach me some stuff? I wouldn't mind paying if i had to for a few lessons. Otherweise, too much work for too little return.
DE is just simpler.

It is too bad this one didn't go through, but, Jeff, I totally understand and appreciate the work you do (both your job job and the setting up and hosting of meets).

I'm sad but glad to hear this is cancelled. I had something come up, though my line of work is far less beastly than Jeff's.
