Thread: Kansas City Group - Fall 2011 Meet

Cool! I may just bring some whiskers too. One of the reasons I would like to come other than just meeting folks is to see if I am doing things most effectively. I'm hit and miss on my finish honing and stropping. I have some razors that just fall into line for me and others that don't. Hopefully, you guys can watch what I'm doing and help me get that straightened out.

If you have a GPS, the address is 308 West 8th Street, Kansas City, MO 64105

Coming from South KC:
Highway 71-North to I-670 West.
Exit Broadway. Turn Right (North) on Broadway.
Continue North on Broadway to 8th Street.
Right (East) on 8th one block to SOHO Lofts. There is a parking lot on the South side of 8th with plenty of spaces.

Coming from Kansas / JoCo:
Highway 69 / I-35 North to Downtown.
Take 14th Street / Downtown Exit and proceed East 1 block to Broadway. Turn Left (North) on Broadway.
Continue North on Broadway to 8th Street.
Right (East) on 8th one block to SOHO Lofts.

Coming from Central/East MO:
I-70 West to Kansas City to I-670 Alt.
Exit Broadway. Turn Right (North) on Broadway.
Continue North on Broadway to 8th Street.
Right (East) on 8th one block to SOHO Lofts. There is a parking lot on the South side of 8th with plenty of spaces.

Just to double-check, we're talking about Dec. 3, right? (Not Dec. 8?) Wanted to make sure

Really looking forward to getting some learnin' first-hand! Also, I've got a friend or two I may try to bring along if that's alright. One got me into straights, the other I know uses a DE from time to time. Not sure if they'll want to come, but thought I'd mention it to them if it won't make the shindig too big.

Whoops! Yes, the 3rd!!! Thanks - I have corrected the post.

All are welcome... I've got space in the clubroom for 20+ people, so no worries!

What time do you plan on kicking off? Also, a friend of mine is thinking of a straight after I was talking about the use of Straights. If he is available that evening, he may tag along with me.

Since we have some folks coming from a way's off, how about we get started a little early this time... I'm open to suggestions.

Mr. David how about we meet at 3:00 or 5:00? Any guy's interested in honing I will bring stones and 100X scope. I think Kelly will bring strops and stones too. I know you will have gnosh-n-stuff and they have good burgers at the Phoenix.

I vote for 3:00 as well. That would give us plenty of time to hone, shave, and talk shop. Those that want to stick around for food and drink after are welcome, and some will likely have to hit the road.

I think the consensus from last time was "Come Unshaven!" I'll try and set up a little mirror-and-shaving station down in the club room and/or there is a locker-room across the hall for guys to shave.
