    Default NE IA Meet!

This is going to be a long winded post. I've been stuck home sick with the flu for three days now, and for someone like me going that long without working is like a life prison sentence! Part of that punishment is that I am missing the Frozen-Toe Meet and thinking of all my friends there is just killing me.

SRP has taught me a lot about shaving, but even more about hospitality. Whether it was BJ hosting the Mid-MO or Lynn having Utopian and I over for a weekend to play in the shop, I have never been more welcome in my life. Last Spring when JoeD and CarrieM invited me to their home for the West NY meet I was through the roof with excitement. They are wonderful, wonderful people and I loved every minute of it!

The hosts aren't the only great people, though. I have yet to meet someone from SRP who I can't get along with. There have been meets when I am enjoying someones company for hours before realizing they are someone who, based on their online persona, I had thought was a real crank. Point being, meets are a great opportunity to learn more about the great people at SRP.

I haven't been on SRP much lately, largely because in August I bought a house. An old house. A very old, very falling apart house. I am gutting and rebuilding it one floor at a time, and having a blast-- and a lot of back-aches.

So, the whole point...I want to give a little back, and host a meet each year, starting this fall. I'm thinking August or September, and I want feedback on when works for people. We can hone, restore, eat, drink, be merry, and enjoy all the best things SRP has to offer. I'll even try to get a shave den ready! Who's in?

From here the house looks great, its probably a good thing I cant see inside. I would like to throw my hat in the ring if I may, what a way to do a house warming.

    Say when...

I'm glad you realized upon meeting me in person, that I am not a real crank, as you no doubt suspected.
Maybe my ability to zip-tie together cars that are busted up from MN snow-banks had something to do with it.

Can't wait to show you the inside. Like falling plaster? This house is for you!

Any weekend that works particularly well?

I would definitely be interested in going to an Iowa meetup. Sorry to hear you aren't going to the MN meetup.

Hey guys, I have been missing from the forum for a while but wanted to let you all know I'm still game for this. I agree with Randy that September would be nice-- I'll check my work calendar and get a weekend set up. Looking forward to a chance to chat razors-- the house has really been taking all of my time lately and it will be awesome to take some time to enjoy it along with a great hobby and some of my favorite people!

    Cheers!
