This past weekend was really a blast.
First I want to thank Lynn for opening up his home to all of us to enjoy his hospitality and his basement and using his polishing and grinding machines. I was pretty much in heaven.
The garage was used for sitting around and smoking and talking about razors, guns and anything else that popped up OH! and petting the cat who I cannot remember what its name is.
The food Saturday night was really good. Lynn and others help cook the hamburgers and brots.
The drawing Saturday afternoon was really cool. There were soaps, strops and razors given away. Charlie Lewis and Bob Allman donated razors for this drawing and Lynn donated a razor that he restored.
I got to meet new people and refresh acquaintances with people that I had met before such as Lynn, randydance062449, nun2sharp and Utopian it was good seeing all of them again.
All in all it was a very good weekend and I hope that I can come again next year.
Here is something ironic. I was traveling West of Joplin on I-44 yesterday, on my way home, and noticed this truck that looked similar to Charlie Lewis's truck. I then looked at the license plate and it was from Texas. I pulled up beside and looked inside and it was Charlie. We waved and smiled at each other and then I went on. That was pretty cool. Charlie had left Lynn's on Sunday afternoon.
The razor I purchased from Charlie Lewis. The blade is Damascus and the scales are Whale bone. The quality of this razor is exceptional and shaves really well. The razor box was an extra that I had.
Some of the guys sitting around on Friday evening in Lynn's garage.
Dave Burnette and Charlie Lewis in Lynn's basement workshop.
Lynn showing some guys how to hone.
Some of my razors on display.
Some more of my razors.

Thanks for the Photos, I had to miss this one. I'm glad you all had a great time and I really like the way you care-take your razors! Congratulations on The Charlie Louis Razor! Keeps him going and thinking through his hands to make newer and more wonderful possibilities.

Thanked: 1Hey Lynn: I finally got back to Lexington. i reflected for 6 hours on the meet. I thought it was a tremendous turnout. I had a great time in the woods shootin on sunday. I learn 10-12 new things when i come to the mid missouri meet. I really enjoyed dinner together friday night at the thai restaurant. Food was awesome not to mention the action congenial surroundings. I thought everybody had a great time. Too bad mike could not make it there this year with his forging furnace maybe next year! Thank you again for opening up your place to me and sharing your message and knowledge of the straight shave world. I will definitely look up John West in Lexington!
Sincerely,
Scott Drexler

Thanked: 2209Well, I finally made it home Wednesday evening. A 1,966 mile road trip that was absolutely the best I have ever had.
First, let me say a big Thank You! to Lynn for opening up his home yet once again to all of us. Your willingness to share is much appreciated.
Next let me say a big Thank you! to Nun2sharp ( Kelly) for allowing me to sleep at his house for 2 evenings but also for his good humored company on the trip to and from Lynns home. Kelly is a really good guy and has a remarkable knowledge of the history of Missouri. In fact the last day I was there he said he wanted to show just one last thing. He drove into a cemetary and pointed out some headstones. Cole Younger & his brothers! We also visited the coolest small town in Missouri.,
Sainte Genevieve. Established in 1735 and it has a remakable number of the original buildings in a variety of architectual styles. It was one town that I would move to in a heart beat.
Str8razor (Bill Watkins)and I once again shared a motel room and once again I enjoyed his company, thanks Bill!
On Friday evening, after the Thai dinner, Lynn pulled out a cardboard box marked "Uglies!". Inside were a whole bunch of razors that were indeed very ugly. He went thru them and we decided which ones could be restored. So on Saturday there was Str8razor, Bill Watkins, down in the workshop, restoring those razors for his monthly SRP giveaways!
Bill was in heaven!
On Sunday evening Bill, Kelly and me decided it was time to find out what had become of 2sharp ( BJ), the guy who had hosted the first 2 Mid-Mo Razor Meets. So Bill started searching the internet for info and we found the location again, developed a route to get to his place and then on Monday Kelly and I drove there. Much to our relief BJ opened his front door and walked out to meet us healthy and smiling! So, to anyone who wondered, BJ is just fine!
On Tuesday I had the pleasure of getting together with Modine,Sham and Kelly. We had a honing fest, mucho good food to eat( thanks Sham!) and spent a little while evaluating hones from the Perfect Edge. Suffice it to say I will not be purchasing any of those.
But I just may be buying 2 Japanese hones that I saw.........
