Mid MO help needed.
On Saturday July 21 there will be a funeral for Spc Sterling W. Wyatt of United States Army in Columbia MO. As is their practice the Westboro Baptist Church has announced that they will protest outside the church during the service. A group of people, myself among them, will be meeting outside the church to for a SILENT and PEACEFUL wall between the WBC and the family. I'm asking anyone who is able and willing to help protect the Spc Wyatt's family from harassment in a silent and peaceful manner to please attend and help. Please PM me for further details.

Thanked: 334I think the U.S. Army should position a tank there and aim the BIG GUN at the protesters. Maybe then they'll finally get the message!

I thought you'd like to know that around 4,000 people showed up to how their support. As soon as WBC showed up the were immediately surrounded by around 300 people eliminating any thing they could do and gave up after 10 minutes. We had enough people for that, to surround the church in a silent wall and line nearly every inch of the route to the grave site. At least 30 of the patriot riders showed up to give SPC Wyatt's procession an escort on top of 10 or more police vehicles.

It was good of folks to show up to do that. I feel they (WBC)are a bunch of nuts. They enjoy the liberties to do good because of our soldiers. This is what they do. I dislike them, but I suppose I should pray for them. My hat's off to the Patriot Riders as well. A fine, Nationwide bunch!
A similar thing happened several weeks ago in College Station, Texas. The Aggies formed a "Maroon Wall".

Thanked: 443This is the first time I've heard of such a response to the WBC. Til now, I've just read about noisy counterprotests. Kudos for dignity! Unfortunately, where I live, there'd be plenty of homes opened to the WBC contingent.

This is amazing well done....
For any body who is reading this late ( like me ) please do not go to the WBC website. They profit heavy on the ad's on the website and it is their second largest source of income..... their first is from lawsuits.
